Hey friends!
How is it going?
It’s been a while, I know.
For the last few months I've been developing my Personal Knowledge Management System (PKM), reading a lot of books, and writing many notes about random stuff.
Now it’s time to start sharing again.
Quick recap:

🧽 What I’m Soaking In
1. My PKM
When it comes to Personal Knowledge Management (PKM), you either know nothing about it, don't see any use for it, and basically don't care, or you go full throttle down the rabbit hole and make it a central part of your life and can't stop talking about it.
Yeah, I'm the latter.
The thing is, a PKM that works for you can literally change your life! It will make you more productive, reliable, and smarter!
But it's not easy to find the right system for you, and all the options that you can find out there probably cause more harm than good, because it's daunting to have literally hundreds of different apps, workflows, frameworks, and systems to choose from, without knowing what will resonate or not.
My advice is: find someone you consider smart and trustworthy, and try what they recommend. Some stuff will probably work for you, and some won't, but you'll start to get an idea about what clicks, and you'll get a little closer to your kind of system.
👀 What? You want a sneak peek of my PKM system!? Ok, I guess I can show a little bit… 🙃
This is version 1.0 of my Home note in Obsidian. It's my launching pad for the day, and from there I can do everything related to my writing and my knowledge management.
It needs adjustments, and I'm sure I'll change many things over time, but right now I'm very happy with it! 😄
And that big image at the top of the Home page is an Oak Tree reflecting on the water, just like my PKM system is a reflection of Danny Oak…
2. 🦉 Soaking Up Knowledge
It’s a little lame to share my own tweet as “knowledge“, but I feel this is so true that I want to point it out over and over, especially to keep it fresh on my mind and apply it daily.
3. ✍️ Writing
I published a story on Medium about the importance of good planning when it comes to task execution.
If this sounds interesting to you, give it a read:
P.S.: As I was writing this section, I found out that Medium is beta-testing a new functionality: Tipping
So if you share content on Medium (or want to), don’t forget to check this out. And remember, there's nothing wrong with monetizing your creative work, on the contrary; income allows creators to keep creating, benefiting their audience with more and better content.
4. 📚Books
This is a must-have book for anyone interested in doing more and doing it better.
Our mind should be used for thinking and for creativity, not as storage for endless information.
I had high expectations for this book, and it met them.
🏁Finish Line
And that’s a wrap!
I hope you can take something from this SOAK edition, and if you think somebody else could benefit from it, please share it.
Thank you for doing this with me, I hope I’ll see you next week!
-Danny
It's not lame to use your own tweet :P in Small Bets community we call it "selling your sawdust" hahaha
The medium is indifferent, as long as we give wings to curiosity and keep expanding our knowledge surface, only to realize that we know so little after all! :p
